C4 - Music Television is extending hours from this weekend.  Since launch, in October 2003, C4 has broadcast every day from 4pm - but from this weekend everything changes!  C4 will now broadcast from midday on Saturday and run all through the night to Sunday morning 8am.  Existing shows - such as The Official NZ Top 40 and Freestyle will remain in their normal time slots but two new music video shows will fill the additional time.   "Blender" (12pm - 03pm Saturday and 1am to 04am Sunday) will be a blend of videos, mixing the biggest songs of the moment with hit videos from over the years.  "Spoon" (04am - 08am Sunday) is a very early Sunday morning show and C4 will aim to be in the same frame of mind as viewers watching - chilled out, eclectic and a little eccentric.  Sunday broadcast will resume at 10.30am (rather than 04pm) running through to close at midnight.
 
These new weekend hours will continue in 2005 and will not affect the rest of the C4 schedule.
 
Over the Christmas period (from 24th December 2004 to 02nd January 2005) C4 will extend to 24 hours - thanks to Vodafone.
