3 NEWS, CAMPBELL LIVE and SUNRISE have all shown considerable ratings growth in the last month to the end of November.

In the key 18-49 demographic, the 3 NEWS channel share has increased by 5.4% to 34.2%, against One News’ 30.9%, which has fallen by negative -3.8% in the past month, compared with October.

3 NEWS has also gained in One News’s key demographic of 25-54 by 5.4% against One News.  3 NEWS also increased its audience share in 25-54 Metro by 5.2% and in 25-54 Auckland Urban by 5.4%.

November saw CAMPBELL LIVE show a 11.1% increase in 18-49, against Close Up’s decline of -4.3%.  CAMPBELL LIVE also grew its audience share in 18-49 Auckland Urban by 8.6% and in 25-54, Close Up’s key demographic, by 13.2%, against Close Up’s negative -2.9% decline. 25-54 Auckland Urban showed CAMPBELL LIVE’s increase in audience share of 12.3% against Close Up’s negative -8.1%, giving CAMPBELL LIVE a 23.1% share and winning the month against Close Up’s 20% share.

SUNRISE showed positive growth in key demographics during November. The 18-49 demographic grew by 24.8%, 18-49 Metro by 17.4% and 18-49 Auckland Urban by 33.2%. In Breakfast’s key demographic of 25-54, SUNRISE audience share grew by 24.3%, in 25-54 Metro by 23.4% and in 25-54 Auckland Urban by 20.5%.

TV3’s Director of News and Current Affairs, Mark Jennings, comments “It is pleasing to see 3 News and Campbell Live taking share off TVNZ in its key demographic, but most gratifying is the trend in Sunrise’s ratings.  The programme is starting to gather speed in Auckland and that is a really important market.  Our emphasis on news and information is starting to pay off.”
