REEL LATE WITH KATE A HIT WITH VIEWER NUMBERS SURGING AFTER THREE WEEKS

Kate Rodger’s new film show Reel Late With Kate has shown a staggering 80% share increase since it launched in July.

After three weeks on air the show has gone from a 10.4% share, to an 18.7% share in all people 5+.

And 50,000 more people are watching now than three weeks ago, going from 72, 800 viewers to 122, 800 in the same demographic – a whopping 69% increase.

Kate says she is thrilled with the results and rapt people have embraced the show, demonstrating there is a real demand from kiwi movie lovers for a locally-made film show.

“I knew I wasn’t the only film junkie out there, and to see so many fellow addicts staying up to watch Reel Late with Kate is just the coolest thing ever,” Kate adds.

So far, the show has been seen by a total cumulative audience of 466,700 people aged 5 +.

Fellow Executive Producer, Charlotte Purdy adds: “It shows the popularity of movies for New Zealanders, but also the popularity of Kate. She’s a fantastic presenter and the show’s an entertaining watch.”

This week on Reel Late With Kate Oscar Kightley reviews Angelina's Jolie's new action movie “Salt'; Kate takes a closer look at 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World'; and viewers are taken behind the scenes of Tom Cruise’s latest movie “Knight and Day”.

Reel Late with Kate is Kate’s own film review show for TV3 and screens on Sundays at 10.25pm.

TV3's weekend current affairs show "The Nation" has a new presenter. Sean Plunket, the host of Radio New Zealand's Morning Report, will join the programme on August 7. more

The final series of 3’s most popular drama Outrageous Fortune, launched on 3 last night, drawing a record number of viewers and the highest overall ratings ever for the series. In 3’s key demographic of 18-49 the show got a 23.7 rating equating to a whopping 45.9% share – easily winning its timeslot, watched by over 447,000 people. more

The results from the latest Research International audience survey were released earlier today and showed The Edge is out on top with 437,800 people tuning in every week, well ahead of nearest competitor ZM by over 30,000 listeners.* more

TV3’s early morning news shows ASB Business and Sunrise have come to an end. The morning news shows launched two and a half years ago, and despite helping grow the total early morning television audience, the cost of producing these programmes has proven to be unsustainable - particularly in the current economic environment. more

3 News is outrating One News in its own target audience of 25-54 year olds nationally. For the month of March, 3 News recorded a 31.3% share, compared with One News’ 27.5% share, down a whopping 23.0% compared to their 35.6% share this time last year. more

TV3 kept its lead against TV One in 2009 in the 18-49 demographic – again beating them, and C4’s growth puts them substantially ahead of Prime in the 15-39 demographic. C4 experienced growth year-on-year in primetime, with a dramatic lift across all demographics by both share and audience numbers. more
