Emmy-award winning Netflix series House of Cards is driving strong uptake for MediaWorks’ rebranded video ondemand service 3NOW.

Kiwis have embraced 3NOW as the new way to catch up with their favourite TV3 and FOUR television shows on multiple platforms. The 3NOW Apps for mobile, tablet and Samsung Smart TVs have been downloaded more than 134,500 times since its February 23 launch.

House of Cards is the #1 3NOW programme, with more than 110,000 streams, and viewers have until 10.30pm, Sunday 23 March, to access the box set of the compelling political thriller.

MediaWorks Director of Interactive, Siobhan McKenna says 3NOW has won user accolades for its features and ease of use, high quality content, and contemporary look and feel.

“The feedback has been very encouraging,” McKenna says. “Users tell us 3NOW delivers the innovation and quality they expect from MediaWorks, and makes it easier and more enjoyable to watch their favourite shows. The House of Cards ‘all you can eat’ box set is a great way into the new Apps.”

House of Cards launched simultaneously on TV3 and 3NOW on February 23, with the full series available on 3NOW as a box set for 28 days. After that time, individual episodes of House of Cards will become available on 3NOW after they screen on TV3, as is the case for other programmes. Season two of House of Cards will screen on TV3 immediately after season one.
