MAKING A COMPLAINT
If you are concerned about the content of a television or radio broadcast, you are entitled to let us know.
Informal complaints are dealt with by the person in charge of the broadcast and formal complaints are dealt with by the broadcaster’s Standards Committee.
If you are not sure what broadcasting standards are, please read these codes first:
Free-to-air television code
Radio Broadcasting Code
With the exception of complaints about breaches of privacy (which may be sent directly to the Broadcasting Standards Authority at PO Box 9213, Wellington),
you must send your complaint to the broadcaster in the first instance. The broadcaster must reply to you within 20 working days of receiving your complaint.
Online News and Current Affairs programmes
If you are concerned about news and current affairs material you have seen online you should direct your feedback to the Online Media Standards Authority (OMSA).
(OMSA) complaints must be lodged within 14 days of the content first being posted on the publisher’s website.
Please note, formal complaints must be received by MediaWorks within 20 working days of the Television programme or Radio broadcast.
If you have any questions or concerns please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will respond to your enquiry as soon as we can.
