Matt Headland is a senior commercial and digital executive with more than 25 years’ experience leading growth, transformation and innovation across New Zealand’s media and digital sectors. He is recognised for his ability to combine strategic vision with operational execution, building high-performing teams and scalable digital platforms that deliver sustained commercial growth and meaningful audience engagement.
At MediaWorks, Matt holds executive responsibility for digital platform performance, monetisation and commercial strategy across the company’s digital ecosystem, including the rova streaming platform and associated digital properties. His role focuses on growing audience engagement, developing data and technology-enabled commercial products, and building strategic partnerships that connect major brands with highly engaged consumer audiences through digital and streaming environments.
Matt has played a key role in the evolution of digital audio and platform monetisation in New Zealand, helping organisations navigate significant industry change while unlocking new digital revenue models and growth opportunities. He works closely with senior leaders across marketing, technology and business to design solutions that combine data, storytelling and customer experience to deliver measurable outcomes.
