McDonald's, OMD & MediaWorks, have just launched a New Zealand media first: a bus that literally transforms before your eyes. This isn't your average bus wrap, it's a dynamic, show-stopper designed to celebrate the new colour-changing Coke® cup.
Four full-wrap double decker buses are cruising through the city, using special lenticular printing technology. As the bus goes by or you change your angle, the image on the side shifts from a sleek greyscale Coke cup to a jaw-dropping burst of vibrant, full colour. No buttons to push, no app to open - the magic happens on its own, mimicking the incredible colour-shifting effect of the cups.
The entire "Go Feast Mode" campaign is all about big fun and even bigger rewards. Grab a Large Combo Meal to score one of these awesome collector cups for just $2 and get a chance to win instant food prizes through the "Cup Smash" game on the McDonald's app.
Jen Hilliar, OMD Client Service Director says, "This phase of the campaign was all about demonstrating the moments where the cups themselves can “Go Feast Mode” and showcase the colour changing effect of the cup. This is a fantastic example of using media in a way that truly brings this to life, captivating and engaging audiences."
Our goal was to create a media execution that was as dynamic and surprising as the product itself. The lenticular bus wrap delivers a powerful dose of fun and innovation, perfectly reflecting the excitement of the McDonald's ‘Go Feast Mode” campaign. It's a fantastic example of using media in a way that truly captivates and engages the audience."
"We wanted to do something unforgettable, and this campaign absolutely nails it," said a spokesperson for MediaWorks. "By putting this market-first technology on the streets, we're not just showing the cups - we're making the city feel as vibrant and playful as the promotion itself. It's a feast for the eyes and a perfect way to kick off 'Feast Mode' in style."
